I just went to the Robinson Arms website and saw a VEPR KTR-03 for the first time. I LIKE IT! Problem is, I thought the "dust-cover" was a poor place to mount a scope or rear site? It moves around too much to be a stable platform, doesn't it?
Just wondering if more engineering was put into the KTR to make it more stable, or if my notion of it being a poor platform is a fallacy.
Thanks...

The Galil has a rear sight on the receiver cover and does not seem to suffer with it.

i'd never put a scope on an unmodified dustcover.... you might as well shoot with no sights at all.
i think the ktr dustcover is fixed with an additional screw.

Rear sight on the receiver cover should work well, as it does on the Galil. Vepr covers fit very well and do not move around. Vepr scope rail on receiver is best place for mounting a scope. Joeken has web site address for new company that bought out hesse, the new company makes and sells the KTR receiver cover with the adjustable rear sight and no scope rail on it for $90.00.
