I had purchased two black buffers last month, and not even thinking twice, quickly installed them in my SAR-1 and preban underfolder. I took off to the range, and everything went excellent.

I came home, and stripped both guns so I could clean them up before putting them back in the safe, and to my suprise, noticed the buffer looked a touch different. Being a noobie to buffers, I guess I installed both of them backwards, and after shooting both rifles, it kind of stripped out that little inside ramp (you know the little 'ramp' on the inside/middle portion of the buffer? It ramps up in one direction...hehe I really hope you can visualize what I am saying). Well both sides of the little ramp are stripped, and kind of hanging on by just a touch.

Did I destroy my new buffers? I put them back in, and they seem to be snug enough, but I just want to confirm with the expert before heading off to the range again. From what I described, does it sound like they'll be ok? Thanks for your help man, and despite my buffer noobie-ness, I love em :p

It does sound like you installed them backwards however the ramps were mainly for appeareance and really serve no functional purpose. The buffers will function just fine with out them.
