Is anyone out there making new stocks for the VEPR? I would think there would be money to make if someone came up with a skeleton or better looking synthetic stock that would fit a VEPR. Any word if K-Var is in the works to offer one in the future?

I believe the Choate dragunov style butt stock for a slant cut MAK 90 will fit the Vepr with a minimal of fitting.

I think what www.krebscustom.com , has done with the stock Vepr stocks, as pictured on their site, is the best that can be made available.
Unless someone wants to mill a custom stock block, that would insert into the receiver, use an extra long pistol grip screw that would thread into the front of it, This would allow you to have it welded onto the rear of the receiver, while it was held firm. Or it could require rivet on each side of the stock tang be removed and the block be rivited with the tang to the receiver also, making a very secure stock mount. Even, drill out a hole into the receiver on each side, where a flat head screw would thread into the block, just far enough ahead of the AK butt stock to clear the top of the stock`s L area. And the outer sides could have sheet steel cut and welded onto the sides of the block to meet the slant cut receiver lower, and make a square end to it. Or something like that.
If someone were to make such an adapter block, they could sell a ton of them ! it would allow very secure mounting of a stock AK butt stock and would look good.

i'd buy at least 5 of them. serious!
many vepr owners in germany are pissed off with the wooden stock... they want the military looks. and we get tons of east german ak furniture here...
Hamburger,
Do you have a link for the wood stock Vepr?
It would be interesting to see. Thanks!
