Recently purchased (guess it could be considered stealing with the price I paid), a LNIB Vepr K in 7.62 x 39 from a friend. Like it so much that I ended up selling my SLR 95MB. Anyway, found a couple of neat ideas to better enhance the gripping surfaces of the pistol grip and forend. If these have already been listed, my apology, just thought I would share with those that may not have already seen or heard about them.

1) Tac Star brand rubber slip-on grip for a shotgun forend
(#1081265) works perfectly on the pistol grip portion.

2) Skate board tape, found it in large sheets, for the forend.

Pistol grip looks to be from a standard AK. What did you use for the spacer? I take it you just attached it through one of the holes in the bottom of the forend?

Hmmm...ACE Ltd. (www.riflestocks.com) makes some cool grips that would match the VEPR's existing one pretty closely – maybe the HK ERGO model?

It is an FSE made AK grip. I had to take some of the plastic away from the inside of the handguard just above the hole (2nd hole back) to get the p-grip nut to fit right.
