What are your recommendations for a lightweight bipod for my Vepr II? I getting ready to hit the 200 and 300 yard ranges, and am look for a stable platform.

Thanks,
Ian

as soon as i get my vepr, i will probably equip it with a medium sized harris bipod.

but for 300 yards, i'd recommend a sandbag.

The Harris bipod is the best one for the Vepr, it attaches to the sling stud under the forearm stock. Get the quick detachable large round head screw to replace the allen clamp down screw from, www.brownells.com . The bipod attaches without a tool in less than 1 minute, and detaches even faster.

Marconi - Which QD screw are you referring to? I can't find one in the Browell website.

Thanks,
Ian

You can make a cheap and effective sandbag by simply cutting the leg off a set of BDUs.

Sew one end shut, fill with sand and sew other end shut.

Many military snipers use one. They only sew one end shut and fill it on site. When empty, it folds up small and is easily packed, plus it is lighter and easier to carry.
