View Full Version : Loose front sling studs
The front sling stud on my VEPRs always seem to need tightening. As I tighten them, I am concerned about stipping threads (and also affecting the POI.) Unfortunately, I don't know which threads I may be stripping as I don't know if the stud screws into the forearm, or directly into the barrel. Can someone please explain how stud attaches to the rifle? Is there a solution to a loose stud? Will a loose stud affect the use of a bipod?
Thanks,
Ian

the front sling stud screws into a threaded hole in the bottom of the gas block. It is how the front handguard is secured to the rifle.
Just take it out and apply some fingernail polish (you choose the color) to the threads and screw it back in snugly and indexed correctly. The fingernail polish should keep it from loosening but still allow you to remove it in order to remove the lower handguard.
