Leaf sight queston

Any idea how to remove rear leaf sight from SAR-1 sight block? :Imconfuse :Imconfuse

You need to press the leaf spring tip down.
The easiest way is to use a drill press.
Put a 1/8" pin in the chuck.
Lower the chuck and press down the leaf spring tip.
The rear sight will then drop down and slide to the rear.
Install using the same procedure.

to remove the rear leaf site assembly on AK's:

remove magazine from rifle, place towel on corner of a table, then
place rifle in up right position with bottom of receiver on table
and rear site flipped up , then use a large flat head screw driver
and carefullt push down on front of the leaf spring to relieve the
tension, then simply pull the rear site housing right out, the only
thing holding it is the leaf spring tension.

to re-install the leaf site assembly, it is much easier, it just snaps
back in! just use a rubber mallot and position it in the rear site
housing and hit it with the rubber mallot and it will snap right
back on. very simple. :cool:
