My "SELECT" Polish Ak 47 (Pmkms) came today and it is the worse Select parts kit I ever ordered, infact it maybe the worst parts kit I ever got!
No matching serial numbers not a one, rear trunnion was bent, bolt and bolt carrier are rusty, the wood looks like someone dragged it across the road (several times) the barrel looks like its been through a war (inside is ok) nothing looks as Global Trades internet web page select picture.
I called the office and told them this is unacceptable, they told me to pack it back up and they would send me another kit - which is ok, But! how do you put a kit such as that into a select marked box?
Is they're quality control lacking? (This is the first time I ever did business with them)
Trouble is I paid them in a money order (today) if it was a credit card they're would already been a stop payment on them.
You could say am upset - after all it was they screw up on the zip code and took them from the 5th to the 14th to get from Texas to Washington state to get here - plus all the long distance calls on my dime.
Maybe am just unlucky - the kit I got from FAC was fawless and that did look unfired and that was'nt even a select item.

Dont worry, Global Trades is a good company. If you have problems with your new kit, call and ask for Jimmy. He is a good guy and he will help you out.

The box looked like UPS used it as a door stop on one of their trucks, but the kit was FLAWLESS!! Really impressed with the quality. Even the 'used' bayonet I ordered was without a scratch.

I'm sure they'll take care of you.

I sent the other select kit back and ordered another select kit with the promise that this one is what I should of been.
I was told somebody made a big mistake on my order.
Problem is I had to buy the other one up front and get reimbursed after they receive the old kit, I also ended up paying for shipment back - which they are to pay me back too.
I am willing to give a person/company a second chance, But! not a third.

Picked up my standard kit last night and I'm very pleased with it. Everything looks almost new. The only problem are the scratches on the barrel from being pressed out of the trunion.

My select kit is just as advertised - unfired new. Was 5 days to Alaska

Best deal I've gotten from Global and they've all been good.

The new packing method (vac-pack) isn't all that good though. I like the old sealed bag method better, the vac-pack doesn't stay sealed in shipment. No harm, just not as good.

Papabear, I'm sure it was a mistake as this a exception not the rule of how Global operates.I've ordered three parts kits from them and they have all been better than I expected, they even shipped one to my FFL holder for me , no prob. Understandably I can see why you would be upset, however, If you ever encounter a prob with any company make a phone call first to find out what happened before assuming that you got ripped off or whatever.
A great rule to live by is to never bitch to your peers, you would only be complaning. But to bitch(talk) to higher ups is to be looking to correct or change a problem.
I hope this gets straightened out for you soon.

I just got my second select kit yesterday, first one was returned.
Everything was much better than the first or at least on the first appearence!
On inspection of the parts I noticed a what look like a crack by where the pin holds the gas piston in place on the bolt carrier - and on closer inspection with mag. glass it is cracked through - how ? Who knows.
I will be calling global trades this morning about it.
I try not to bitch about a product/company and I try to give everybody at least a second chance - like this, all I want is a replacement bolt carrier.
Everything else I am pretty happy with.
The barrel is not the same serial number (thats a easy fix) and the selector is not the same serial number as the rest (and everybody seems to have that problem)
The wood on the kit is - well AK style wood, meaning its not going to look like a ironwood designs furniture.
I guess the aircraft inspector is still in me - he,he.
Everybody have a good day now.

I would not accept a kit where the barrel number does not match.

The whole idea behind a "all matching numbers" kit, is to avoid having headspace issues. If the barrel, trunnion, bolt and bolt carrier don't match, what's the point?

I was fortunate with the kit I got, everything, including the selector lever number, match

Thanks for the reply, This is my second kit from them and I am waitting for the other kit I returned last week to get there so I can get my refund.
I spoke with them (global trades) this morning about the bolt carrier, even though it was hand selected and inspected by one of they're gunsmiths (so am told) they missed the crack - it was small and looked like a scratch.
But.They are making right of it, yes the barrel with the same serial number would be nice, just mill it and restamp the serial number of the parts kit on it.
Fal guys do it all the time, only they use the receiver number.
I will have the bolt carrier milled and restamped - head space I don't think thats going to be a problem - what happens if you break a bolt and you have to replace it, same thing.
I look at these kits much closer than your normal AK parts kit people and I am sure if you look hard enough you can find things wrong with your parts kit!
The rest of the kit is like new - sh*t happens and if I returned it I could end up with a kit that is worse shape!!!!
