1. OK, I started cleaning my shop last week looking for some Mosin Parts for a 91/30 Im putting together and I ran accross numerous Mauser parts from different countries and models.

2. I took a 7mm Spanish Mauser Reciever and barrel along with her trigger group and floorplate and installed them into an Argintine Carbine stock I had laying around. I recut the stock to fit the new barrel configuration which was very close .

3. Once I figured the barrel and receiver would fit and the trigger would line up I glassbedded the stock to get the exact fit .

4. Next I used my Hot Blue system to blue the metal. I did three dips and got this beautiful black result.

BLUED BARREL (7mm Spanish Carbine)

5. I then took an UPPERHANDGUARD leftover from a VZ-24 ufixem I had once. I had to whittle the wood out to fit the configuration of elevation sights and fashion a spring onto the inside to clamp down on the barrel to make it hold. This was because I had to shorten the guard to fit properly. As a result it wouldnt stay fastened down. The spring clamps around the barrel much like the AK handguards.

6. I had to fashion an extractor from an old Turk piece I had. I already had the bolt so I was save there. I also got the barrel ring from the turk. The buttplate had to be heated and bent to fit the curve of the back. It along with my springs came along with the stock and the bayolug.

7. The results are as you see her. I did re-align my sights by taking off the hood and using my sightpusher sight her in.

8. THE FINAL RESULT

1. Yea, Actually I'm scraping the bottem of the barrel. I yearn for the good old days when you could by 30.00 dollar Turks and 39.00 dollar Mosins. They keep me busy.

Excellent work Neil.

hmmm, wasn't it only last year we were buying all those $17 u-fix-ems?

I miss those days, even though I barely touched them. They're all still buried piled up waiting for me to go thru them all one day.

Thats a pretty nifty carbine there. I take it the bolt is 7mm right?

Nice blue job too. You are getting pretty good at that.

1. Yea, If you remember back when the action, bolt barrel receiver was that unknown gun the local gunsmith gave me because he couldnt figure out its caliber. It was in a bubbized stock. It was also missing the ejector. A truely international gun.

Yeah I remember. I like it! by the way the three fer deal at Century is $99.87 for three. I did that about a year ago and they were real nice. I got Poles back then. Now all they have are Russian. But for $33 a piece, not ufixums so they are all functional, what the heck. I have little room left for Mosins.
