I have two Polish kits. One for me and one I ordered for my friend. They are both in excellent condition. One has a blued bolt carrier and the other one is polished. Which one is better and why is ther a difference?

Thanks.

I asked Jimmy at Global the same question, he said there is really no telling why some are in the white and why some are polished, there really didnt seem to be a pattern to them either.

I've only see polished bolt carrier from year 1981 and earlier..the later ones were all blued. There were blued ones in 1981 too, but I'm not sure if they were blued ones from before 1981. Let us know if there are exceptions to this.

The polished one is dated 1981 and the bluesd one is 1983...

Ive got an 81 dated kit, and the bolt and bolt carrier are blued, but I did look some kits over in person when Jimmy brought some to Ft. Worth, and I actually saw about half and half of each.

the later manufactured bolt carriers were probably blued because
it took less time and had less chance on making a reflection.

polished in the white carriers took more time because they had
to be buffed out & polished, less machining marks.

maybe the blued ones came from different arsenals?

these are just minor maufacturing differences, one is not better
than the other.

I have seen a total of 5 polish kits
3 were blue
2 were unfinished

They all had the same date stamp(1981) and they all had the same arsonal marks on it

I have no clue why they were like that.
Maybe it could of been a change in the supplier.
Or could just be a request of the original buyers.
Sorta like the black were special ops and the plains were just the grunts

Heck I don't know
