Went out today and shot the post sample KVAR/FEG Krinkov we just built. It runs about 600 rounds per minute rate. Lots of fun. And yes, we are a licensed Class 2 Manufacturer.

Dave,
I've been wondering if I should sacrifice a registered receiver Class 3 AK to make it into a Krinkov. The Krinks look cool, but is it worth the difference? And my big concern has been that although my AK isn't the most accurate gun in the world, is shortening the barrel going to make the accuracy worse?
Also, do you have any idea of approximately what a conversion would cost? (just ballpark figure)
Thanks for your advice.

Hi Dave, When I had my war trophy chinese AK I put a rate reducer in it. I had to cut off the hammer spring on the right side. The trigger pull was not baddly affected. Thats what I did. I hope to have a semi Krink soon, in 7.62, if PA ever gets in their 7.62 kits.... I'd rather have a K-Var, but can't afford their kit... Enjoy !

clay, $200 for the 5.45 kit from progressive. add $300 or so for the basic trunnion and bbl. work. refinish it and you're good to go.

i'm currently embarked on a krink 5.45 sbr project. got my parts gathered up today. i'll submit paperwork next week and complete the rifle after approval.

Clay:

Whether you want to sacrifice your registered receiver AK is a personal decision. Personally, I would probably not do it, although if you have a quality job on a Krinkov, you would have a $8000 gun. A registered AK is about $6000. You are just investing more money in your gun. Its going to probably cost you $1000 to convert. I don't know what Murray Urbach charges but I would assume that is close.

As far as accuracy, I don't have an exact answer for you. I would say the sight picture on a Krinkov is just as good because of the rear sight being on the back of the front hinged top cover.

I have a full auto Krinkov, which is not something you drive tacks with anyway. The 5.45 is much more controlable on full auto though than the 7.62.

OK, Why 3 times more to put a kit on a "full auto" receiver vs. semi? Same type gun isn't it? except for a miscellany.
