OK, someone set me straight - what the heck is this?

I know, but can't for the life of me shake it out of my head today ! :)

The 44 makes me think Yugoslavia, the hammers look Russian and the bolt handle looks like a cut and weld maybe? Sorry:(

The safety looks like it's from a Spanish type mauser. My Chilean's have the same type of safety. That entire bolt, minus the bent handle, looks just like it as a matter of fact.

I'd say the bolt has been cut/rewelded for sure.

Yes, the handle has definately been rewelded, please ignore that ;)

Spanish is what I was trying to think of!

So is it Spanish or Chilean...??? Need more pics maybe?

It also has a scalloped spot on the bolt body.
