I am a an 07/02 FFL working on Romanian SAR3 post 86 conversions. I need to purchase severl FA .223 bolt carriers. I can modify the existing carriers, but would rather leave them intact and go with ones that were meant to do the job. Does anyone out there have any for sale? If you have any, please e-mail me: thedude@thetoolshed.net

Thanks

Try KVAR. They have all kinds of AK parts.

If it wasn't for the stupid 86 ban, you could be building F/A AK's for damn near everybody on this board instead of "samples" that none of us mortals will ever get to see.

Tried them, unfortunately, K-var is back ordered for about 25 days. I have exhausted all means of getting my hands on some. Thanks for the info, anyway. I was hoping to find a few floating around on the net somewhere. If anything, I will break down and modify the semi-auto ones.

Please excuse my ignorance, but isn't the bolt carrier the same in the 7.62x39 as it is in the .223 guns? I know the bolt is different...

The only difference between the 7.62 x 39 and the .223 are the bolt, carrier and barell. All the other parts on the guns are the same. As a matter of fact, the conversion process is identicle to that of the 7.62 x 39.

Thanks for the info. I had my select-fire .223 AKM converted to 7.62x39 several years ago, and on the AK's, the bolt carrier was the same, and the C2 mfg. just changed the bolt and the barrel. I didn't know about the SAR3's. I learn something everyday from this board...
