Would this classify as a C&R if it really is a soviet tok? Also if it has no import marks, does that mean no added on safty? What do you think about the price? I'd think $100 extra would be worth it if it is in good condition, no import marks or safty...

Soviet Toks classify as C&R. If its genuine, there won't be a safety, the safeties were added to satisfy import laws. The Price sounds too good, to be true. Its sounds like a helluva deal, but I'm always leary, of things being sold over the internet.

Not so! Last year SSME of FL imported some Russian un-altered TT33s.:D

Thats interesting. I wonder how they got past the law, on imported guns having a safety. I'd love to get hold of one of those. I hate those crappy safeties, especially the ones the Chinese use.

At the time it was thought they were imported as C&R and the Polish were not. Only about 100 were brought in and they went for $300. They came with one matching mag and one non, new holster and lanyard. I thought it was worth the extra $$$$$ to have an un-alterd pistol.

the guy photographed only the right side of it......and not a very good photo of it. it probably is a soviet tokerev, but for that price it probably has the hole drilled into it for the safety, which in itself isn't so bad....but then they dished out for the safety to ride in on the frame, right over where the date is. I've seen a few of those at the gun shows, and all of them have these hole but no safety, and the dished out area on the frame.
surplus firearms out of Fl. where selling those tokerevs.

If you remove the addon safties, is there any material you can 'fill in' the hole with and then cold blue over for a cosmetic cover up?

anything is possible.....filling in the hole and the dished out area probably wouldn't be insurmountable to a gunsmith......but the date can never be restamped, the soviet tokerevs i've seen all you see is 1 or 19.
