First I would like to thank AIM for sending me such a nice rifle and for answering all my pesky emails before I place an order. Upon opening the box I found a tag that said, "Stock Crack, replace stock and make grade 1". That pretty much sums up the rifle. The metal is a good 95% with wear only on the edges in a few spots, on the muzzle where the bayonet was locked up and on the butt plate edges. The internal parts show almost no use and the bore looks new. All numbers match on every part, including the stock. The only missing piece is the sling swivel loop. The stock crack was on the left side of the stock just above the trigger. It was repaired in an enterprising way by the Albanians and is kind of cool. The stock did not look like it belonged to the rifle however. It appeared to have been tied to a rope and dragged by UPS all the way to my house. Since the finish was at least 60% gone, what was there did not match each other, and the stock did match the rifle, I decided to attempt to save it. Several hours of work made things look pretty good. I shot 10 rounds through it last night with no problems at all. I did not shoot it for a group, but found it has the best SKS trigger of any I have owned. I will post a picture if someone will tell me how to do it.
