Guys I emailed Robinson arms about there VEPR.223 . I asked two questions.
#1 . Is the reciever fully heat treated ?
#2 What is there VEPR .223 cambered for . .223 or 5.56 ?
This is the reply .Chris,
I'm pleased to hear you are interested in our rifles. I'll do what
I can to answer your questions for you.
1. I don't know if the receivers on the VEPR are heat treated or not,
I'm sure they are, but that doesn't matter. The receiver is an RPK, the
best the AK world has to offer. The Russians have stated this receiver
is good to 25,000 rounds. Not many other rifles can say the same.
2. This is where we get into politics. You can't bring in a rifle in
that is said to be chambered NATO spec. Why? Because that is a
military round. While on the other hand the .223 is considered a
sporting round, and therefore can be imported. Most rifles are said to
be .223, but they are chambered to NATO specs. With that said our
rifles will shoot all NATO & SAMMI spec ammo.
I hope I've been able to answer your questions, if there is anything
else I can do for you please let me know.
