Looks like I'm the mod of all things furry. Kind of fitting I guess...;)
To get things started off, I wanna hear some hunting stories. While I definitely want to hear about hunting involving the AR-15, I also want to hear about other hunts involving other rifles. I'll post mine here in a second. My lunch break is about to end and I don't have time to type it just this minute.

Great post Inspireart! I worked till 9:10 last night and now I'm sneaking in a short post before I get down to business once again. Keep your powder dry.
NEF handi-rifle was soon replaced by my M17s which will be replaced by an AR15 at a little latter date.;)

Watch out or that Monkey Pox will get you! Our Ar-15's in .223 start to run out of oomph past 200 yds. Have made many kills at 300 yds but it really requires holding off for wind and elevation. ;)
is from before the Monkey pox problem;) The Handi-rifle is also in .223, but I think I may get a bit more velocity from a 22" barrel with a standing breech. That shot was at 290 some yards with a 45 grain V-max, no wind. I have not decided if I want a 20" or 24" barrel on the new upper. With a 24" I might be able to step down in powder burn rate and get more velocity, without more chamber pressure. ;)

Let us know how all that works out. I'd be interested to see if you can get more go out of the round with slower powder. Idea makes sense, but I'm sure that the law of diminishing returns is in effect as always...
