I know that he is/was the enemy, but the absolute absurdity of what he was being instructed to say during the invasion made me somewhat sympathetic to the guy.
I figured that he'd bought it at some point. . .

Why would either we or the Brits want to interrogate him? He doesn't exactly have a good track record for honesty...

Baghdad Bob is badly in need of an agent and publicist; some marketing firm in the US or Europe is going to make Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf a very wealthy ex-Information Minister.
:D

The big point here is a lot of people think this jack ass deserves fame and fortune for what he did..Did you see Tokyo Rose or Goebbels profit off their propaganda garbage when all was said and done?I think not.He doesnt deserve anything expect maybe his own theatrical department in some prison.

Well, first, Ikuko Toguri was an American citizen acting in aid and comfort to the enemy. Big difference.
Second, Goebbels was a key member of the Nazi leadership while Baghdad Bob didn't even make our Top 55 list of people to question. Big difference #2.
My point was that this thread was humorous in nature and that you were taking it way too seriously, especially for someone who has a picture of "the enemy" in his avatar and quoted in his sig line.
If you can have the perspective to be a Rommel fan despite the American war dead of the North Africa campaign and D-Day invasion, then have the perspective to let me laugh at an idiot without running over to call me anti-American or anti-soldier.
And thanks for pissing on my thread. :(

I never called you anything,
My flame was directed at jackass Bob for crying out loud.Sure Rommel was the enemy but he was and still is well respected by the world. He was not a nazi he was a great leader and tactician, but thats got nothing to do with the current events and this good for nothing disinformation minister we are talking about here.:DSoldiers fight for what they believe in,this jerkoff did not he just ran his mouth.I wasnt taking away from your humor here just trying to remind everyone what was goin on as this guy was having his 15 mintues of fame around the world.

Fair enough.
Nonetheless, you made a statement from which most reasonable folks would infer that you think I Ð and whomever else finds the idiot funny Ð had forgotten that US troops were dying in Iraq by being entertained by this idiot.
You'll forgive me for publically correcting that inferrence. ;)

I guess this guy's statements during the conquest of Baghdad can't but ADD to the sacrifice of the soldiers who fought there.
While they were winning, this guy was rendering Saddam regime ridicolous in the eyes of the world :)
It almost deserves a medal :D
Have a look here, anyway

It's fine one can have a laugh in a serious thing as a war...
