Has anyone ever used this type of ammo (Olympic ss109)? I see that the ammunition store has 1000rnds for $159 which is the best price i've seen. What do ya'll think of it. Thanks

RUN, don't walk away from it!!!! I've seen lots of posts over on arfcom where the cases have split and it is known to pop primers out of the cases frequently. For some good, cheap SS109, try the Czech S&B or the Bosnian HotShot. I've had good luck with both.

Thanks for the tip. Where can I get Czech S&B or the Bosnian HotShot? How much is it usually? Thanks

I've seen it at shows. Picked up some Bosnian for $25.00 for 200 rds.

Spanish Santa Barbara SS109 is pretty good too. Some have complained about soft brass, but it has not been a problem in my SBR (11.5") and that thing really yanks cases. The stuff is pretty accurate too.
Olympic? Lavockin nailed it, RUN AWAY!
If only South African surplus was plentiful again, I'd say get that. When (if) SG gets more I'm gonna buy a ton because I'm down to my last 5500 or so. I love this stuff.

Boy I wished I'd have known about this olympic crap about a week ago. I ordered 250 rounds of the M193 55 grain FMJ stuff from sportsmans guide and it looks like SHIT. About 3 in 50 have huge bulges in case neck. As for others, if you hold the cartridge between thumb and index finger and spin, the cartridges center line is way off. I dont even know if I should take it out and shoot it or not. I think I got:sex: ordering this shit.

Was just about to order 1k of 9mm and .223 olympic ammo from SG. Whew! Glad I decided to check this forum first.

Oddly, the 124 gr 9X19 Olympic is decent stuff. I have fired about 4,000 rounds to date without issue. I would not be scared of the 9mm.
The .223 Olympic, either SS109 or M193 is altogether different. Neither will cycle my Colt or Bushmaster ARs, but they will cycle my .223 Saiga and SAR-3.
