I have been looking for a true Russian Dragunov SVD Rifle. Unfortunately the only Dragunov rifles I can find are made in China or Romania. I was wondering if Robinson Armament is or would consider importing a real Russian Dragunov SVD rifle. I know I would be the first in line to purchase one. Are any other VEPR-AHOLICS interested in this type of firearm ?

a real soviet militry dragunov will set you back about 5,000 or more dollar range. if you can even find one, those don't come up for sale, only a very few where ever imported......the closest soviet copy of a dragunov you'll find is the TIGR.....those run in the 1000 dollar range or more depending if the furniture is all military. CALIFORNIA ARMORY TIGRs.......about 2500 bucks, basically it's a TIGR with a flash suppresor and military stock set , that is number 1 of 1,000.
the romanian SSG97, are not dragunovs, not even a close copy of it........but just AKs are steroids. still from the reviews I have been reading they are very accurate rifles.
you can forget about dragunovs ever being imported from russia, it ain't going to happen. there was a aggrement signed back in 94 that no "military style" weapons can be imported from russia..........even if they are able to import one, it will be so neutered, it won't even look anything like a dragunov......just like the vepers or SAIGAs. are neutered AKs
There was one for sale on Tantal's for $3000.
There's always hope. RobArms and Molot got the Vepr in. The Romanians get the PSL in..

There have been a few TIGERs listed on Gunbroker recently. I just bought one myself. The rifle is stamped TIGER with the "E". As I understand it, the SVD was the military version, with the TIGER made for "civilian" use. I read that as export version. Both are stamped "Made in Russia".
This is the one that I got, I do not know much about the stocks, but I do know that there were several versions.
