It seems like my whole state is going down.
My nieghbors and some friends have come to believe that asking me about firearm related issues is the only topic I can speak of.
So for some reason I have accumulated a box (maybe 1K rounds) full of old ammo that they didn`t know how to get rid of.
So now I have enough that I need to do something with them.
I only took them cuz most of em came in mil type ammo boxes and I would prefer they are taken care of properly
I thought of burying it out in the desert...............but it just don`t seem right.............
so???????????????????
help me Obi Wan Kenobi, your our only hope

30cal for days but my M1 30 cal I don`t trust and have never fired it. I was supposed to rebuild it
I don`t own a 38 spl.

Pile of old ammo + Tannerite + old mannequins 100 feet away + timed/remote fuse + long distance viewing = watch boom on camera
Sorry, just trying to think of something unique :D

Take the good ammo and leave it out at the local range.

The local range seems like a good idea, see if there are any reloaders out there that would want it for components (could check your local shop to see if they know anyone who would want it for components).
Yup the local range, they are used to finding a few rounds..
Just think how estatic they'll be if they find a 1000! :p
How much 38 spl. do you have?
Is it in good condition?
12 Ga shells in half with a hack saw, save the shot, and burn the powder, or spread it in your garden or the lawn, throw the head with primer into a bucket of used motor oil or karasean, let soke for a week then just toss them in the trash. The .38 and .30 Carbine can be sold at your local range, 30 Carb. is pretty expensive stuff, I'm sure you will have no problem selling it. If you don't reload shot shells or cast bullets, you can probably sell the saved shot too.;)

Thanks Rew
Any chance of static electricity when cutting the plastic shells with a metal saw?
The rest is in piss poor shape and I don`t believe anyone would want to purchase it
I will save the 30 cal and try to rebuild the little carbine.
the 38spl is in decent shape and I have plenty of pals round here
Interesting side note;
most of the ammo came from my dad-in-law who is LAPD ret.
:p
dump `em at the range???????I don`t think they`d like that much but I will call them and ask aboot what they do too old cartridges
I have taken apart many shells with a hacksaw, I use to cut just through the bottem of the wad then use the bottem part of the shell as a salute (blank) on the 4th of july. Then I discovered Muzzle loaders!!!:p
