View Full Version : Scored a Jap Type 38 bringback!!!

She's in very good shape with all markings intact, full mum. The stock is in good shape with its original finish and hasn't been sanded at all. She's a 28th series from Nagoya arsenal with late features. No import marks at all, did I do good:D ?

Banzai!!! That's one of the better looking jap rifles I've ever seen. Nice score there!!

That is a great looking rifle you scored there. What is the indent in the wood by the mum, it reminds me of a recess for a bent bolt :confused:

Everytime I get a new gun it's my favorite, until I get another one:D This one was $195 out the door, that was a very good price for the condition she's in.
I've never found out what the cut out on the side of the stock is for. The type 38 rifle and carbine , type 44 carbine and type 97 rifle all have it:confused:

Looks great! I might need to branch off and find me a nice Japanese relic to add to the collection someday.:)

GunGuy98, that is a great looking rifle.But i need to ask what the small cut out in the stock is for, the one at the reciever.

Is that screw plugs in the front of the receiver? The cut-out could be for scope mount clearance?????????

Guinny, if it's in good shape...buy it:D The value of Jap rifles has been steadily going up over the last few years and will likely keep going up.
Plus they're just great fun to shoot. This is the fifth one I've owned in the last three years. I sold off the other four.I'm still kicking myself about selling off an all matching with mum early type 99. I've been looking for another like with no luck:(
