I just got mine back from Krebs. It is everything you could want in an AK and a rifle in general.

I have a Galil and FNC along with various AK's and the KTR is by far the smoothest, lightst recoil, no muzzle rise, exellent sights, ergonomics are great, finish is attractive and bullet proof.

Some say it is too heavy. I suggest they start taking steroids. I believe the front end heft make this a nice shooter and it feels "right". You would be surprised.

I think this is the perfect rifle. It is more accurate than I thought possible. Shoots as well as my AR15 without the chincey "twang".
I was sceptical that an ak could perform this well, but I am here to tell you it is unbelievable. All of the AK eronomics problems are gone.

I took some pics:

Anyone else get their KTR with this last batch? Interested to hear from you.

Oh, the price tag. Well, it is expensive, but not when you compare it to rifles of equal quality and craftsmanship. If you want to compare it with a preban AK. No comparison, the KTR wins. Probably no collector value, but 10 times the rifle. If you want to compare it to a preban AR15. Again, no comparison, this is a steel gun, not investment cast and it is built like a tank. Other than the mag changes it is more ergonomic than the AR15 and more reliable.

It is more comparable to the galil, valmet and FNC.

Recon, according to Kreb's website (http://www.krebscustom.com/KalashnikovRifles.html) (scroll down about 2/3 of the way), they're available in 7.62x39 and 5.56x45 (.223). The Robinson Arms site says they're available in 5.45x39 also. Since Kreb's custom builds the KTR exclusively, I'm not sure why it isn't listed in this caliber on his site. Here's a THREAD (http://www.gunsnet.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=119564) with some good KTR info. JIMBO55 has a bunch of pics of his KTR.

48thHighlander, I got mine the Monday following the 4th of July weekend. According to Brian at Kreb's, they shipped out a bunch of 'em at that time. I got mine in 7.62 with the skeletonized stock. Like you said, the overall fit, feel and quality of the Kreb's Tactical Rifle is absolutely incredible (well worth the cost, IMO). I personally went to Kreb's in late May, and once I got my greasy hands on one, I knew at that moment that I just HAD to have one. An order was placed shortly thereafter.
