I have alot of empty cases stick in the chamber of my AR. When the bolt comes back, sometimes it will take off part of the case rim. What do I need to do? Polish chamber? What is the best process for this fix?

What kind of ammunition are you using?

Russian manufactured? Wolf, Barnaul, etc. use Laquer on thier cartridges.

ammo is the first thing i would look at. also, is it a 223 or 223 match chamber and if so, are you using 556 ammo. can make a difference.

Just a bit hard to follow partner. If the cases are Brass and the barrel is short, then, the gas can reach the bolt carrier before the brass de-expands. Or it can be a rough chamber, need a bit more info, before a real solution can be put forth. ;)

I was using reloaded brass cases witha 16" bbl. The quality of the reloads themselves are good, because I did them myself to mil spec and have been reloading them for almost 20 years. They work great in everything else. I have heard about people polishing the chamber, so I thought that might be the answer, but I am not sure on the exact procedure. I am not sure who made the bbl, I might have to look tonight to see if there is any info on it. Thanks for all the help so far.

I reload too, and I have found that on the 4th reload some cases get kind of soft, I can tell when I'm trimming them. I use these in my single shot after that. I don't want to get into anneling the cases when so many once fire can be picked up at the range. Depending on your powder of choice, and with a short gas tube and soft brass might be the problem. Just a guess of course.;)
