I want to purchase a SAR-1 with the laminate stock. After hearing all the stories about canted sights and pitted bores, I am somewhat hesitant to buy one sight unseen. Are the guns from Aim Surplus the newest SAR imports? I have heard that the lastest bunch of imports have had less manufacturing problems concerning quality. I have been to some shows in Pennsylvania, and have had poor luck finding a gun in good shape. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I too have the same question. I would like to purchase a new and unissued condition SAR-1, that has been thoroughly inspected for defects such as a canted gas tube and sight. Does AIM offer a hand picked SAR-1 and how much would it cost? Thanks so much, and please reply to rfdillon@hal-pc.org.

We try our best with the naked eye, but cannot garuantee it. We always have the latest stock so have very few problems. But if you must be 100% I would go to a gun store or show and look before you buy. Sorry for the short response, I think I have answered that question a million times.
Thanks,
Erik

I just got mine from AIM, and have ordered from them many times before. My rifle is straight as an arrow. Theyre good guys, and they will take care of you if you have a problem. Matter of fact, I just ordered yet another rifle from them today. :D

I would buy another SAR-1 sight unseen. Mine's been flawless.

I am surprised they lowered the price on the SAR-1 even more, instead of raising it like some others...

I went through the same thing.......I got a straight as a string laminated sar1. I couldnt have been happier. I am now 2 for 2 with AIM......I'd say go for it. if it isn't right I bet they will exchange it. This rifle was better then the sars I see on the tables at the shows around here.....take a chance.

I too have never had a problem with AIM, the main reason I'll continue buying from them and few others.:D
