100 yards ? I'm getting VEPR fever and I was thinking about the 20 inch 7.62x39. I was wondering what kind of accuacy they had out to 200 or even 300, if anyone has shot thiers that far?
I have a Vepr II in 5,56. Beings I shoot Milsurp, I haven't bother to shoot much paper with it.
But it is very accurate shooting Clays (about 4" diameter) at 200m. It rings a 250m gong (12-15") 28 out of 28. ;)

HDR, Yours is a .223. Will a 7,62 X 39 hold that kind of accuracy at 200 m ? I know my 5,45 will out shoot my .308 at that distance. At 100 m they are close to the same.

I still have "Mouseguns" report about using the .223 Vepr in Hi-power matches if anyone is interested.

Hey mack can you post that report in this thread?
The report is to large to post. I can e-mail you a copy in .pdf if you want. It really is good reading regarding the potential accuracy of the Vepr.

Out to 200 meters, I can still pop shotgun clays with my VEPR II 20" 7.62x39. (Accuracy does improve if you use better ammo - Winchester - trade off being price) Using iron sights it gets a bit dicey, but if you do miss it is pretty easy to make the adjustment and walk the shots onto target. Using a 3-9x scope, laser sighted in, you'll hit more than you miss - assuming you do your part. ;)
I haven't really tried it on anything much beyond that range, but again I am sure that if you use the better ammo, and with the right set up on your gun, and you doing your part, 300 m shots are a possiblity.
