I would like to put a pistol grip on a post ban Daewoo DR200. The parts count should not be a problem with the AR15 internals and mags working in the Daewoo and US pistol grips are available from ACE. The problem is the buttstock, as the only ones I have seen on it are the Galil/FN-Fal type fixed folders also available from ACE which I don't like. Anyone have any ideas on how to fabricate a non folding copy of the Daewoo K2 plastic side folder? If the standard Korean folding stocks were available, it could just be pinned or welded in hte open position but I have never seen any (or any Daewoo parts) for sale. You would need a good drawing and some photos of a K2 to start with. I thought of using fiberglas over foam but would prefer some sort of plastic material that would be simialr to the handguards. Any ideas?

I've been contemplating doing the same thing.....except as you mentioned there are no parts to do this with....no only that but the receiver on the pre ban rifles is different in the rear. Maybe combining the folding mech on the ace folders with a solid stock. Do a search for the airsoft daewoo there is one out there with the folding stock. Maybe taking that stock and making one out of polymer or wood then somehow adapting it to the ace folder mech.

Since the rifle is a post ban, I have no interest in having it fold. The entire stock would be one piece, so the different receive should not be a problem.
That airsoft version migh just be the ticket. I talked t a guy that bought n airsoft scope mount for his HK 91 and it fit perfectly and has held up for the last year with no failure and it was a lot less money. Even if the material of the stock is not suitable for a firearm, I can lift the demensions and contours from it or better yet, a friend of mine has a stock duplicator that I could use if he's not. All I would have to do is find a suitable material to cut it from.
Thanks,
