There is a new petition against a renewal of the 1994 AWB. It is being circulated because the older one has numerous grammical errors on it and it seems to have slowed down dramatically because of that. This is an online petition as before:

If you signed the last one, then sign this one.

Bilster, your desire to toss the AW ban onto the ash heap of history is admirable, but you need to WATCH OUT FOR MISDIRECTED, TIME-WASTING EFFORTS!

Internet petitions are useless! They make folks think they are actually doing something when they are not. It's a false sense of accomplishment. We need to focus on the stuff that works!!!

POLITICIANS ONLY CARE ABOUT VOTES AND MONEY.

In-person visits, phone calls, faxes, and snail-mailed, handwritten letters are the way to make your opinion heard, because politicians know that if you expend this much time & effort, you and your family will also vote & contribute to their campaigns (or not)!

Sorry to rain on your parade, but them's the facts...

We should do as NY Patriot suggest. So, start firing away. Petitions have their uses, just look at what a recall petition did in California. A petition needs tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of signatures before they start looking at them.

I hope to get tens of thousands of viable signatures. No users names or fake names. I checked, and found some dummy put his user name there instead of his real name. That can kill a petition as easy as not signing it.

...or you could give The Essential "End the AW Ban" Contact List & Sample Letter Thread (www.gunsnet.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=137612) a try.

Ready made political activism is just a mouse click away!!! :D
