I just got my hands on a Japanese Type 30 that has been cut down, both stock and barrel. I've been trying to find a place on the web for parts and good information but it seems that there isn't a whole lot about these rifles. The numbers match on the receiver and the triggerguard and trigger, but the rest is mismatched and it looks like most all the parts are here, except the front sight and the rear sling swivel. The barrel and receiver have some rust and pitting that I should be able to clean up fairly decent. The hook safety lever is broken. Odd thing about it, though, there is no rifling. It looks like a smoothbore. All in all, for $15, I'll, at the very least, have a cool wall hanger.
Some assembly required. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.:D

Hey, neilwest, I found out some more info on the gun in question. It's actually a T30 that's been converted to a blank firing training rifle, hence the smooth bore. I'll get some photos up for it soon.

**THIS JUST IN** I just got an email, as I was posting this, from a gentleman stating that he has a T30 he'd be willing to part with for $50 delivered. Everything but the bolt, evidently. Hmmm...

Here's the one I got for $15. I assembled it. When I bought it, the guy handed me the barreled action, the stock and a coffee can.

Not shown are the barrel band, bayonet lug and rear sight assembly. No front sight was included.

Hard to beat that for $15. You've either got spare parts or a nice display piece. Good buy
