what is a sp1 nib worth?

A Colt SP1 will typically list nationally in the $1,500-$2,000 range at NIB condition, sometimes higher.

Thats true, but they loose value fast ... I've seen LNIB excellent SP-1 listed and re-listed and finally sell for $1100-$1300 ... so if it is NIB you may want to keep it as a safe queen and only admire it :(
