I need a web address for a exploded view of a 213 Chinese Tok to see if Im missing a part. The safety wont stay engaged.:(

A common issue with the Chinese Toks with the safety at the left rear of the frame just below the hammer. There is not much of a detent and the lever tends to move readily, especially so under recoil.
Numrich Arms sells a "Safety Fixer" for the Norinco 54 T that provides an effective detent action, their part number 799790. It may work for your 213, but it also requires a pin which they are presently sold out of, but I'm thinking it could be readily made my a 'smith. Give Numrich a call and ask for someone that's familiar with the Norinco Tokarev; see link:

The problem with most published exploded views of the TT33 is that they don't show a safety because the pistol as designed uses the half cock notch as the safety. See this site for an exploded view and an excellent step-by-step disassembly guide with pics of the Norinco 213 by Serger:

Thanks for the info. This is the first Tokarev I have ever handled besides a bring back that a friend of mine brought back from Nam. That one was a Russian gun no safety nickel plated and black baklite grips. This chinese thing a friend brought over for me to fix for him. I think Ill tell him to get a better gun and use that for a wall hanger or a paper weight. I dont think a person could justify the expence to fix it.

The diagram for a Tokarev does not have a safety, other than half cock on the hammer:

I beleive the safeties are just added on to get passed US customs.
I have 7 Tokarevs and I take the safeties off as soon as I get them. I only have one 213, but it gets the same treatment.

Yes you are right Somebody in thier infinite wisdom thought they knew better than the designer of the pistol. So they put a saftey on it that not only doesnt work but even may be dangerous.Somebody in D.C. needs to be slapped along side the head for that one.:D

I ordered 2 Chineese 7.62 Tokarevs about 7 years ago through Shotguns News and a local FFL for $85 each.
One was safe in the rear position and the other in the forward. The safeties, where it did not show, had no machined surfaces, but were entirely free hand ground.
I sold the pistols in disgust.
Two stupid moves:
1) I should have kept the pistols as only the safeties were bad.
2) Buying 2 pistols or more in one week from the same FFL gets a form filled out and sent to Washington DC.

I had the same problem with my Norinco 54. Just shooting the gun would move the safety. I finally got fed-up, and took the damn thing off.
I hate safeties anyway!
Now if I could figure out a way to fill the hole, I'd be all set.

VZ24 TIG welded where I made a mistake grinding off the charging hump, for $5 by a gunsmith.

Then I file it smooth and cold blue it.

I've considered having it welded, it would probably be the best fix.
Maybe one of these days, I'll have it done. I've been trying to think of a good do-it-yourselfer fix, but haven't come up with anything.

I am hopeing to have one here real, REAL soon. So is this something I should take off, or do they move as bad on them?
