Is the bayonet scabbard for the Yugo M48 suppose to have a drain (weep) hole in the bottom of the scabbard?
I noticed there is a dimple on the bottom, but it doesn't go all the way into the scabbard.

It makes sense there SHOULD be one there to drain water. It could be clogged with dirt and cosmoline. I just want to be sure before I attempt to open it.

Any thoughts?

My Turk doesn't. On the other hand, the one for my 24/47 does. I can't remember if the one for my M48 does. I can't get to it right now.

Okay, I got ahold of mine (the scabbard, that is) and it had a dimple in the bottom. I pushed on it with a punch and it went all the way through. It was just full of crud. So, yes, there is a hole in the bottom.

I thought it was a hole, but wasn't sure.

Tracy, thank you for your trouble.

Not a problem. I am ALWAYS asking questions. It's nice to actually have an answer once in a while. Everyone must be busy tonight.
