S.1431 and H.R.2038 are in committee. These bills are for the AWB
renewal without sunset. They are more restrictive than the last.
Fire off letters to your representatives and let them know how you
feel. Sign this petition too. The petition will be in circulation
untill the end of the year. Right now, it will not impact the current
debate, but it is there for future battles.

Why would anyone (with a brain) be against this?

It is a question of beliefs. Some are so against this petition on the grounds that it is a complete waste of time. They feel politicians will only respond to snail mail, with the belief that if someone takes the time to write, they must be serious. I think it is up to the elected representative. I pointed this out and I have a theory about the preference(if it exist). I think some officials tell everyone they only resond to snail mail in the hopes that they will get fewer letters. After all, email is easier, and most wil not use snail mail. They rep keeps his overall mail volume low, both snail and email. This makes his life easier.

Don't tell the snail mailers this! That is blasphemy! Oh no! Their esteemed representatives aren't like that at all! They will shout you down if you say so! Only snail mail works! Nothing electronically sent is worth it. You are wrong if you do!

That is what I was up against at AR15.com.
