I saw a Swede carbine with the wood up to the muzzle, and I'de like to know what model and any info on the mil surp. Cost of getting one, where's the best deal, and what to look for when I find it?

Probably a model 94 Carbine. Many were imported by a company called Interarmco back in the late 1960's to early 1970's possibly. They were shorter than the NFA allowed and were lengthened by 1/2 inch by the attachment of a tube to the muzzle. Original barrel length is listed as 17.7 inches in Ludwig Olson's 3rd edition of "Mauser Bolt Rifles".
