The Body Bagger

I have an m15A2 carbine and would like to mount some sort of optical device on it. Since I do have the carrying handle I was thinking of an Aimpoint ML2 comp (ACOG would be ideal but its about the same price I paid for the rifle). Now just so I understand this correctly, I would need the "gooseneck" rail($55) to mount the Aimpoint fwd of handle and I would need the Quick rail grabber ($90) along with the Comp ML2 itself ($300). So is all this really worth the $445.00? This seems a little excesive for the Aimpoint actually does, doesn't it? What about the ARMS #16 specifically for the M2/ML2 Comp? I like the way it sits in the handle and a cheaper cost, but would this sit too high and how well does the zero hold on this?

I like the EOtech Holosight but think it would look a little strange on the fwd mount or ARMS #2 mount(too high?). Any of you out there with any experience of using an EO or Aimpoint on top of a carry handle mount?

ACOG would be ideal but unfortunately they are priced out of my range as of now. Am I missing any info? I realize now that the flat top receiver was the way to go, but I have always used Iron sights and thought it would be best to have it permanentely attached. Any thoughts?
