Hey guys,

A freind of mine has a really nice Colt chambered in 7.62x39. He said he will let me go on the payment plan for it and will include all the extras with it. I was wondering if it is possible to mate this with a 5.56 upper? This would make the deal very attractive to me, as I have plenty of ammo already (I own AK's and SKS already) but it would allow me to also have a weapon that would have the accuracy of the 5.56 chambered weapon if this lower could be compatible with a different upper.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.:)

Yes, there's no physical difference between a colt 5.56 and a colt 7.62x39 lower, except the markings on the magazine well.

The caliber's pretty much entirely in the upper, at least for those two calibers.
