How does the heavy 60 gn.(I think) aguila subsonic round perform on pests and varmints? Does it function reliably in semi-auto's? Thanks:)

Ive had good luck with the Aguila Subsonic ammo, although im not shooting pests, its pretty accurate, and cycles my semi-auto Marlin .22.

Once 'reformed' with Paco Kelly's Acu'rzr/Nastinose tool, the Aguila SSS shoots straight without key-holeing and reliably in both my semi-autos, a Walther P22 and a Win M63.
I have not used it in live targets.
The SSS needs it own sighting-in, as it shoots an inch or more lower than standard 40grainers.

It worked well in my 10/22 at 25 yards. Very accurate at this range. Supposedly starts to lose some after 50 yds. Case came out still flaming and trailing smoke!

It is 1-9 to be precise, but you may save yourself the expense of a purchasing a new bbl, or an SSS-dedicated rimfire, by simply modifying/reforming a couple of SSS boxes with Paco's acu'rzr tool and enjoy yourself shooting the 60grainers in your standard rimfires without tumbling/keyholeing issues, normally associated with the Aguila SSS's longer and heavier projectile.

Welcome to the boards... What does the Paco's acu'rzr tool actually do to the bullet

Jericho,
Thanks.
Paco's tool resizes the nominal .222 rimfire projectile to either .223 or .224 in dia., or even .225. It may not sound/look much but helps cheaper LR ammo to shoot better than their price tag suggests.

I am using Paco's original acu'rzr/nastinose for about a year now and I am very pleased with the results. I have reformed/resized everything from CB Caps to Shorts and Longs. Most of my rimfires prefer $2.00-a-box LR ammo resized with the #4 (.224 dia.) end of the die., which they shoot like $8.00-a-box fodder (or more pricey).

EDITED because I didn't read all the posts...
The Paco Kelly thing may be worthy of it's own thread in the Rimfire Discussion Forum....and now it has one!
