Breakfree, however LSA is good too, when I can find it. I carry a small can of 3n1 oil and it works great, light enough to get into small areas and at the same time will burn off with the carbon.;)

I like FP-10! But the 3n1 oil is a new one! ;)

I have been using Breakfree since the early 80,s and love the stuff. For heavy copper fouling I use Sweets 7.62 it does a good job but stinks like hell.I have yet to clean the gastube on my AR but may one of these days just to see how dirty it really is as I have been shooting alot off Wolf lately.:D

I use Gun Scrubber to clean and Kroil to lube

I clean the bore with Tetra Gun copper solvent, and use it also for cleaning other parts such as the bolt and bolt carrier of my rifle. WD 40 is also a great crud remover, but it's useless against copper fouling.
As an oil I put Formula 3 or a military special protective oil as a bore protectant and CLP everywhere else.
In my experience Ballistol is also a very good protective oil.
I use graphite grease for all trigger groups and for bolt surfaces in bolt action rifles and AK, but just CLP on my H&K SL-8

1] WD40 to the loosen thing up
2] Compressed air to remove particles and remaining WD40
3] Butch's Bore Shine to clean the bore
4] MiliTec to finish to bore and remaining metal surfaces

Guys WD-40 is one you want to stay away from! Especially for in the barrel area! It promotes rust.

It doesn't really promote rust - only water and air do that, but it doesn't do a great job of protecting from rust, but then it's not supposed to be a prevantative - it's a water displacer (hence the WD in the name).

It's a cleaning solvent, more or less and should only be used as such.

Exactly.
WD 40 is great for water displacement, crud removing and de-leading. It's not worth tuppence as a protective oil, as all thin unblocking oils (like CRC 5-56) which are meant to have a very low surface tension and to penetrate and unblock rusted/stuck parts.
It evaporates too quickly and is not useful for protection.
Each oil has its own field of application. Any thick oil will do as a protective. Break Free CLP, Ballistol, even motor oil in a pinch (but it's not to be used extensively as a substitute and NEVER put in a barrel as it tends to gum up and leave crud if heated).

Why use something that promotes rust when there are other solvents that are better than WD-40? Won't touch it!

I use Hopp's #9 to clean. It stays in the upper and the berrel for about 15 minutes(the barrel is done by soaking Hopps on a pad and few down. ANd the chamber is brushed with Hopp's soaked on the brush it's self) while I wipe down the lower with just a clean towl.

Then Break Free CLP is applied to the lower parts and drops are set on all the springs and the pins(Area you can get into without disassembly)

The upper and the bolt and charging handle are then sprayed down with Brake Cleaner to get rid of the Hopp's. They are then dried(Break Clean dries very quickly). CLP is applied to all surfaces(With small pads and Q-tips) and dropped into the bolt(THrough the holes on the side to get to the gas rings and into the extractor and the firing pin hole).

Assemble and fire away.

Hoppe's 9 to clean and FP-10 for everything and I mean EVERYTHING else. Supposively its supposed to be the best out of all llubes and CLP's. I made the switch from Breakfree simply because BF smells like old boots........
