Hello,
I have owned an AR-15 for several years, but have always wanted an AK, now I have about $300 laying around and was wondering if I should invest in a Maadi? I am aware that the finish sucks, but this just alows me to mold the gun in my own image, so to speak. Are there anythings I should look for, how about used ones? How relible are they? and any expernaces and opions would be greatly apreicated! Also price info would be good too.
Thanks a lot
MrF2 (a soon to be AK owner!, hoppfuly)

I recently purchased a maadi. The finish on the metal was good and the wood looks very good(although the top hand guard is darker) and the front sight was straight. Accuracy is what you would expect from an AK and I have experienced no jams to date. I paid $299+tax for mine and I think it was worth it. hth

I wanted an AK for at least 25 years. First time I saw the Maadi thought it was used. Had to have it and now I do. As far as looks it's not pretty but neither am I. As far as shooting cant be beat. Some people say they arn't accurate. Thats not what I found out. At just over 100 yards I hit a 20 ounce pop bottle numerous times. Each shot made the bottle jump so I was resighting each time.
