I have a Maadi MISR-90.

My FFL had 5 of them in stock when I bought mine. There were some really really ugly ones w/canted sights, but I was able to pick out one that looked pretty good. The upper handguard does not match the rest of the furniture. The sight on mine does not look canted. The metal looks good; it's just that the finish is bad. The gun is parkerized, and then painted black -- more like SLAPPED, rather than painted. There are areas where the paint ran while it was wet.

I would NOT recommend getting the gun sight-unseen.

Since I got the gun, I have put approx. 1000 rounds through it, whithout any jams or feeding problems. The cases eject flawlessly, and fly about 25 feet before hitting the ground. I've also fired my gun in cold weather (20 deg. w/-5 wind chill), and it functioned flawlessly.

I mounted a scope on it. I can hit accuratley at 100 yrds. Haven't tried any greater distance.

I definitley don't regret buying a gun, and I would recommend the purchase, but ONLY if you can inspect the gun first. A bounus would be to have several to choose from.

Hope this helps.

I just an hour ago took my MISR 90 from classic arms out shooting for the first time. 100 rounds later, not a single jam. It shoots way to the right of aim and I looked at the front site and it is way left of center. So time to hammer it back where it belongs. One problem is I have new East German Mags, and after a few rounds I can't hardly get the mag out with the mag release, it is so tight, anyone else have this problem?

Reading the General Board I ran across a post by a member stating that his Maadi was not ejecting properly. I am thinking about buying a Maadi for a project gun but I find this rather disturbing. Will you Maddi owners please post your CANDID experiences, positive or negative, particularly relating to mechanical fit/function, metal quality, reliablility, etc.? How many of you recieved guns with badly aligned sight towers or gas Blocks? What kind of accuracy are you getting from the Maadi? (honest please http://www.ak-47.net/akcgi/wink.gif)I do not really care about the appearance of the rifle's paint or wood -- I understand that they are typically substandard in this department.

Typically substandard is a kind way to put it. You could go as far as ugly if you want. The only problem I have had is not enough rounds. Here in the mountains it's hard to find a place where you can shoot more than 100 or 200 yards. Most of my shooting is in the 100 or so yard range. With open sights it's right on the money. As far as not ejecting i've had no problems. It's possible something is blocking the gas port when it happens, this can be easily corrected.
