Need some help with stuck mag release

I am enjoying my refinished maadi a whole bunch. But there is an irritating problem and I want to fix it the right way. The 5 round mag that came with the gun doesn't do this but the 6 East German 30 rounders do. The problem is that the mag release gets wedged into the magazine so tight that I have to bang on it to realease the mag. After 5 rounds it wedges in so tight that it is very difficult to release it. I know I need to remove some metal here somewhere. Do I work on the mag or the mag realease and how do I do it?

I had this exact same problem on my Maadi. I filed the top edge of the catch on the magazines. I guess it would be better to file the magazine release so the gun could accept any mags, but the metal is much tougher and less accessable. I filed the factory 5rd and 3 East German 30rd mags and have no more problems. The metal is real soft (aluminum?) and I was able to file them at the range with a rusty file I had in the bed of my truck.
