My Maadi's front sight post is canted to the left, and it shoots about 2 inches left at 25 yards. How can I rotate my sight post to something closer to upright?

Thanks,

I assume you can't do the standard adjustment to the windage drum, knocking it slightly to the left any more to get the rifle to fire on zero? (By drifting the windage drum that the front sight post sits in). If you really want to correctly get your entire front sight base to be straight on the barrel, then you need to punch out the two retaining pins that hold it to the barrel, knock the base straight upright with a rubber mallet, redrill the holes oversize (1/4 inch will work great) and make two new hardened metal pins of the correct size to press into the holes with a hammer and pin pinch. This method will assure there is no bending or barrel flexing, and is also easier than any other method I can think of.

I WISH I HAD A NICKEL FOR EVERY POST-BAN MAADI MISR SOLD WITH MIS-ALIGNED SIGHTS, TWISTED GAS TUBES AND BBL ROTATED IN FORWARD TRUNION. EVERBODY KNOWS THAT AK'S ARE TOUGH...SO WHO'S THE IDIOT ASSEMBLING THESE NEW RIFLES WITH A SLEDGE HAMMER? A TEST FIRING BY THE "FACTORY" SHOULD BE MANDATORY.GOOD LUCK FIXING YOUR SIGHT, THE ONES I'VE SEEN WILL DEFINITELY REQUIRE MAJOR ALIGNMENT AFTER BASE PIN REMOVAL. BETTER YET, SELL THE MISR AND BUY AN OLDER, HIGHER QUALITY PRE-BAN.

Tantal,

Not to be too picky, (I thought it must be a typo judging from previous posts on the topic) did you not mean 1/8 inch instead of 1/4 inch oversize pins?
