Here she is, my Nagoya 4th series carbine.:D I've searched high and low for one with original finish and an intact mum and now I have her!

The bolt and most of the other numbers match and the bore has strong lands and grooves, I can't wait to shoot her

It is very rare these days to find a fine example of the Type 38. The ones I come across with mums are usually well used veterans, good purchase.

I have a "Last Ditch" type 99. It has a chrome bore that preserved the bore perfectly over the years. The rest of the rifle was built very crudely because they were about done for when they built them. It too has a completely intact mum!

Yours is the nicest condition type 38 I've seen! Does it also have a chrome lined bore? ;)

Nope, no chromed bore here, I'm pretty sure only the type 99 rifles got them. Kind of like a lesson learned thing with corrosive ammo and the humid pacific climate.:D

OMG! that's beautiful. I really need a Arisaka to complete my WWII collection... someday.
