step zero: buy an ak
step one: install us made trigger components
step two: shoot it alot
step three: wait for the parts to ware out
step four: thats it.
i recently bought a used maddi from my local ffl. little did i know that the trigger parts were warn. i went out in the woods to today to give it a test run. when i first pulled the trigger, bang one shot. no problimes. but the second trigger pull set the gun off in full auto. after i was able to stop the gun from fireing i removed the mag and cleared the chamber. no being able to see anyhting wrong i put the mag back in and started shooting again. and once again full auto. sence i didnt know of anything other than a slam fire or full auto parts that would cause a semi to fire full auto, i was stumped. but it only happend with the trigger pulled, so i knew i wasnt a slam fire problime. so for fun i fired the rest of my ammo at full auto. when i got home from the "range" i called my local ffl and told him the story. i took him the rifle and after looking at it he was able to tell the it was a warm catch in the trigger group that was causeing the full auto fire. so aparently with a file and few minuts you could have a highly unreliable full auto ak. thought i would pass along the story, anyone ever have this happen to them? aparently it was the "sustandard american made" parts that failed. good one BATF, require unsafe parts to be use in "sporting" rifles. pisses me off. thanks

correction. the parts were filed down, not worn out. the person who owned the gun before me filed down some of the trigger parts to make a full auto ak, the sold it to my local ffl. got it back from him today, he had a gunsmith install new parts and i will test it tomorrow. he was pissed. if your gunna do somthing like this to your weapon dont sell it. damn. could have killed someone had i not had a good grip. blah! just letting off steam. thanks

I bought an AR-15 from a local pawn shop a few years ago with a similar problem. It was aold Essential Arms reciever with am M-16A1 upper. I shot about 60 rds thru it semi auto and while I was cleaning it I noticed one of the stops on the selector/safety looked odd. I turned the selector and it would go all the way around to FA but you had to push the selector backwards, safe to full instead of the other way, safe to semi to full. I test fired it with 2 rounds in the mag and it was full auto. I tryed 30rds in the mag and it wasn't a runaway. it stopped when I let off the trigger. I couldn't see any evidence of monkeying around with the parts. I got shed of it with a warning about possible slam fires. Hell, it was a preban reciever even.
Then I called the pawn shop and asked when they got thier class 3 license. Someone pawned and lost thier illegal machine gun.

thats just friggin brilliant. "im gunna pawn my ilegal MG". what the hell is wrong with people? i mean i've played around with the idea of hellfire/tack-trigger system, but jesus if i was to make an ilegal MG i would'nt pawn the damned thing. pisses me off. thanks

ive never heard of parts to wear down to produce full auto
if that is the case wouldnt we all be at the range everyday to wear them parts down
what kind of an idiot gets rid of a rifle he illegally converted to fullauto, especially to an ffl,
dont the idiot know it can be traced back to him, and can u say "NO MORE GUNS FOR U"
i agree some1 down the line filed down or messed with the parts in some way to get the desired effect

I think what the guy who owned it before me was going for was to increase the gap between the disconnector and the trigger arm. Giving you 2 shots for each trigger pull/release. I’m sure you all know that this can be done without any modification to ANY of the permanent parts to the gun. Really simple. Of course I was I wasn’t smart enough to figure this out on my own. And neither was the previous owner of the gun. Paid $10 for info that was deemed illegal 2 days after I got it. Kinda lame. Not even a full auto conversion. Just a "trick" to speed up shots. Its kind of weird that a few "ideas" has become illegal because the tell you how to fire shots faster, not full auto. Just a faster way to pull off shots. Sorry just ranting. Oh well. Thanks

shooting a shoot on the pull and one on the realse as your talking about is that illegal?
or not?????
if not i would be interested in how you go about that.
if its illegal then just forget it , its not worth jail time.

I would not recomend buying a Tac Triger. One of the worst $37.99 I ever spent. I could not get mine to do one thing, besides clutter up the triger gaurd. But it would have been one of those things that had it worked it would have been the best $37.99 I ever spent, so had to try it. by the way the filed down triger parts when it fired full auto did it stop when you let off the triger or just keep going? Just curious.

yes it would stop fireing when i let off on the trigger. the problime was that it was highly unreliable and really unsafe. it would go full auto for a few rounds then stop becouse the hammer rode the bolt forward. could have blown my face off. but it was fun for those 10 rounds or so when it did work. as for the two shot bursts, im not sure if it illigal because the BATF got a new HNIC so he may think the modification is an MG. i havent writtin them about it. i should though just to see whats up. but the "package" that i bought telling me how to do the mod said it was legall, but the BATF letter included was dated 1995. so who knows now 6 years later. thanks
