Ok, thinking of getting one of Cheaper than Dirts Norwegian sleeping bags on sale for $39 but want to know if these are as good as the US made military issue ones selling for $150 brandnew in Army Surplus stores. I dont want to be freezing sleeping in deer country up this Dec . Ive seen the US surplus and they are really great with insulated liners and a third ad on which is a goretex. How about the Norwegian made if anyone here has gotten one?
Oh by the way, is there any place in the internet where we can buy those US made for a much lessser price for a brand new one?

I still use US Mountain mummy bags that were made for Korean war I think, my dad got them when he was in the service. Great down feather filled bags and warm to well below zero.

Anyway to answer your question, I would go with the best US Military bag you can find, they are the best bar none.

It is cold in Norway but I don't think they'll compare to a US bag.

I would have to agree with redstar... I know sportsmans guide has them every so often. The one I have I have slept outdoors in winter in Oregon... Cold as I have ever had to deal with... My face froze but the rest of me was very warm ;)

I have a North Face $99 bag. I forget the model name. It is rated to 20 degrees, but I've probably only been camping in 30 degree night temps so far. I got it about 6 years ago and it's like new still. I've taken it to Colorado, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, California and Washington state, up in the mountains, and it's alway been toasty warm to me.

I've never tried a surplus bag before.
