Would be interested in hearing any experiences that any officer has had on a "so called routine" traffic stop.
Officer Jason Pratt from the Omaha Police Department in Nebraska fighting for his life at Creighton University Medical Center after a "routine stop".
Officer Pratt, 30, was gunned down last Thursday by Albert Rucker, 21, during a traffic stop that evolved into a foot pursuit. Rucker was stopped after he was observed driving erratically.
Rucker shot Officer Pratt once, striking him in the head and critically wounding him. Officer Platt returned fire striking Rucker multiple times. Rucker was taken to the hospital where he died Friday morning.
According to court documents, Rucker had three outstanding warrants for his arrest. He also was awaiting trial for being a felon in possession of a weapon in 2002.
