Does anyone weigh and sort their rimfire ammo?
Has anyone tested weighed and sorted ammo vs. unsorted ammunition?
Has anyone ever incorporated rim thickness or other factors into creating batches of superior ammo from bargain ammo?

I've thought about it, but have never done it.
I usually shoot the bulk pack Rem and Win so it may be worth a shot.

Oh yeah, I do it all the time.
I found, using Remington Golden Bullets for example, that when I sorted them and isolated the rounds with the exact same weight (+-.05 gr) and then further isolated by OAL & case thickness that I effectively halved my group sizes. Out of my Ruger 77/22 the normal golden bullets were averaging a .475" group, but when I sorted I got down to a .265" group.
Granted, it took weighing and measuring over half the box to get 20 rounds, but if you're wanting accuracy cheap, it's worth considering.
I usually only do this on bulk pack ammo because with something like Tenex, there's so very little variance that I don't think it will help.
I know a guy I competed against measures Wolf Match Extra and he said he found some discrepancies and eliminated the infamous "Wolf Flyer" by doing so, but I haven't tried it with Wolf yet so that's hearsay.

yes I have tried it, I have sorted Federal Target and Winchester T22. It actually made a difference weighing the bullets, but a friend lent me a rim thickness gauge and that really seemed to be the key (in my case anyway).
Some guys I know will weigh and check rims on the high end ammo and they shoot great scores...me I'm not into it THAT much and not to mention that I'm lazy too.

Me either ;)
If I'm plinkin', I shoot plinkin' ammo, usually federal bulk pack stuff. If I'm going for groups I'll use what ever quality ammo my specific gun shoots best with. It is kinda hard to remember what ammo shoots best in what gun though, I should really keep a log.
Nah, I'm too lazy for that too :D

Lazy mans log:
I keep paper targets that i've shot. I list ammo, rifle, distance and conditions on the face of the target. I three hole punch it when I return home from the range, and toss it in a folder.
I've got a collection of 10rd group tests of my 10/22 @25yds sorted in that fashion. They reference about 10-12 different types of ammo raning from Winchester Xperts to Federal Gold Medal match.
I'm going to try something similar with sorted bulk pack ammo, cross referenced with unsorted ammo of identical lots.
Hopefully I'll be able to post pics.

for plinking and blasting- no I don't.
For Bench Rest shooting I sort by rim thickness only. I haven't gotten anal enough to do it by weight (yet).
