I went to a gun show today and saw about a dozen different dealers selling those new MISR Pistol grip AKs (of which I already own one). What surprised me this time (this guns lack of quality craftsmanship never ceases to amaze) was that these guns appear to come in 2 different styles...some have the hard checkered pistol grips (like mine has) and others have a softer pebbled style grip similar to the one pictured to be on the new SSR99 rifles....what's up with that? Did Century Arms run out of grips or find a cheaper grip or what???

Gopher, check out Net Junkies photos included with the review of the SSR. The Maadi has the same style & size grip as the SSR. Both are checkered, but the SSR seems to be made of a polymer while the Maadi appears to be made of a hard plastic.
