I love Egyptian weapons........

I like Egyptian firearms bout as good as any myself. other than the rashid, hakim, and Maadi, anybody got anything else in the Egyptian line?

I use to have a well used Egyptian model 51
9mm pistol "HELWAN" but I sold it because it
was too worn and the safety was very loose
and the original owner filed the front sight
down too far causing it to shoot high but it
was an original military issue pistol with
markings in "FARSI" I might buy another one
in new condition if I find one. The profile
is very similiar to a Beretta 92 but it only
has a single stack 8 rd. magazine.

The only Egyptian fireamrs that I have found to worth while are the Hakim and Rasheed rifles. The AKs made for export are some of the most sloppy made AKs I've seen. The Helwan pistols can be either good or poor. I have had two of the commerical Helwans and both are long gone to some other sucker. A police Helwan I handled was better made than the commercials. If the Egyptian Army had to fight with the same quality of firearms that they like to export to us I don't think anybody has anything to worry about.
