Here is a maadi RPM that I bought a few months ago. The fron sight base was canted about ten degrees to the right. I had Mike@MSC replace it with an east german base. The buttstock is romanian as is the gastube handguard, the front lower is egyptian laminated wood, and the 'pistol' grip is american made black plastic. The wood is refinshed with a stain from sherwin williams called orangewood(SW code is 3108 @125% orange) and clearcoated w/3 coats of duplicolor engine enamel that contains ceramic. It's oil and gas resistant and will withstand intermittent temps up to 500 degrees. The metal is painted w/krylon bbq & stove paint that is heat resistant up to 1200 degrees. The magazines are chinese plastic 30 rounders. Regards.

I have one of those I abused back a few years ago. I used it as a beater, and it could use refinish job. Does the krylon do a good job? How well does it resist scratches? Did you strip the entire gun before painting it? Thanks dude

I didn't totally strip the rifle before repainting it. It had a fairly good looking paint job to start with. I degreased it thoroughly, dried it with towels and a hair dryer, degreased it again, dried thoroughly, then applied two light coats of the krylon bbq & stove paint. In between coats I dried/heat cured the paint with a hair dryer. If you do yours, post pics of the finished product. Regards.
